Overview: What is it?

Norman Cousins, an American, devoted himself to advocating for the spiritual adoption program for children orphaned by the atomic bombing of Hiroshima and assisted with keloid treatments for female atomic bomb survivors in the United States. Furthermore, he continuously campaigned globally for the abolition of nuclear weapons.

The Story & Significance

The movement to erect a monument honoring Mr. Cousins was initiated following the multiple simultaneous terrorist attacks in New York City and other locations in the United States in 2001.
